ANNUNCIATION:
Stellan Skarsgård, Gary J. Tunnicliffe and Andrew Bohn, ex of Morgan Creek -- three excellent interviews officially months in the can -- the Devil has not won. The book project is alive, its author back in writing mode, after taking care of those interviews and practical priorities for a spell.
And for yucks and icks, CaptainHowdy.com has just posted quite a cool video, you may be tempted to check out.

ANNUNCIATION:
Merry Christ-mas, all.
DOMINION editor Tim Silano's SCHRADER'S EXORCISM documentary will be screening for AAU Film Club members and guests at the Academy of Art University's main downtown building's auditorium. If you can manage to attend, you should. If not, Silano's set to bring crew of his own there to shoot the proceedings; at least the Q & A where he and co-producer, Bruce Stambler (Oscar-winning sound designer on The Ghost and the Darkness), will be joining Michael Garrett on stage to field questions. Rather, Garrett will join them as their special guest, since Silano and Stambler are the real stars, given it's their film screening. Encouragingly, Garrett's book, Silano declares, "authenticates [our documentary]," even as research mode begins winding into full-on, all-out, teeth-gnashing writing mode.

ANNUNCIATION:
This guy, Erik Kristopher Myers, fought hard to get the now-defunct BloodyNews.com up to snuff, while my editor there. Neither of us, nor any of the MVPs in our ranks had a clue where all this Exorcist prequel business would take us in the site's brief time in cyberspace, or beyond. Erik's good fortune in nabbing the first and definitive interview with Paul Schrader and review of Dominion for our otherwise winding-down horror site was only the beginning. While I wandered deeper and deeper into the prequels, eventually not quite a year ago submitting to Erik's lobbying that I write this -- the -- book on the subject, he found an Exorcist expose of his own to write, scoring just as many interviews as me, but best of all befriending William Peter Blatty himself. Need I go on? Very well:
Myers has becomes a bonafide fillmmaker and always was, except now he's got an IMDB page.
Everything -- much of it, to be brutally honest -- having to do with this book I'm writing currently, I can thank Erik for laying the groundwork of insight and encouragement for this latest chapter in my life regardjing this fascinating subject. He is really an MVP here, a trusted and valued advisor, and friend, even with the long days of hard work and decision-making he's had in school, in work, in his filmmaking, not to mention putting up with quite a number of eye-raising beginner's mistakes on my part. And, all this, from the other, chillier American coast.
Erik, I owe you so much, man. Thanks for everything. You deserve all of the blessings God has given you and has yet to give you. Even any favors involving my writing or visual skillsets. Incidentally, I just picked up Final Cut Pro, and seem to be doing above average thus far in the class, so maybe I can edit for you down the lline. Just ask.
Grateful,
MG

ANNUNCIATION:
At last. That OTHER book you've been hearing about. Order your copy today, by hook or by crook.

Almost nothing, besides AMERICAN EXORCIST can prepare you for Garrett's EVIL AGAINST EVIL. Granted, Garrett is but one essayist of Szumskyj's long-anticipated book on the man who started it all. So be pleasently surprised, educated, and fascinated.

ANNUNCIATION:
The book, available as soon as humanly - or inhumanly - possible, given the author's need to put his "practical priorities" first, it can, however, be confirmed as being worth the wait; the breadth of the snowballing research is gradually elevating the tome from the sensational into the realm of objective academia, achieving the goal of definitive status.
Here is the diverse and ever-growing roster of those who've thus far graciously granted tell-all interviews, interviews that matched with the author's synthesis of new, exclusive information and from his extensive research*, virtually guarantee something for everyone interested in this unprecedented Hollywood saga of two dueling celluloid preludes to the greatest, scariest horror film of all time, from the project's late-1990s genesis:

ANNUNCIATION:
Looking for a good piece of compelling non-fiction to take hold of...?
In the tradition of "Exorcist journalists" Erik Kristopher Myers and mentor Mark Kermode -- a new casebook-study on films bearing the name 'Exorcist'. THAT 'Exorcist'; there is only one.
EVIL AGAINST EVIL: THE PREQUELS TO THE EXORCIST by Michael Garrett.
The definitive book on two OTHER 'Exorcist' films -- the ugly, bad, AND GOOD dueling prequels to the blockbuster 1973 original.
The productions, the casts, the crews, the intentions, the expectations, the controversies, the characters, their stories' incarnations, and the writers responsible... these things and mountains more studied, analyzed, reported on and complimented by injections of brand new brainfood consisting of text and images!
20XX AD, 35+ years plus one after the Friedkin/Blatty original, go beyond the prequel films themselves -- learn about Father Lankester Merrin's two interchangeable yet utterly unique "origin stories". You don't have to like them, but you will appreciate them. And what good they do in fact both possess.
Incidentally, supporting this book will indirectly support the original film, so know that it's for a good, and evil, cause.
